Caterpillar Runs From Illinois

Much like everything about Obama, Illinois is not business friendly...

"Please understand that even if your community had the right logistics for this project, Caterpillar's previously documented concerns about the business climate and overall fiscal health of the state of Illinois still would have made it unpractical for us to select your community for this project," the letter reads in part. "Caterpillar intends to continue calling for long-term changes in Illinois and to offer help to the state as it works toward real and fundamental reforms that will position communities like yours to compete for future projects."
North Carolina will be pleased.

Having been born and raised in Illinois, I have followed Illinois politics for decades, albeit from afar in later years.

Politically speaking, Illinois is congenitally defective, whether governed by Democrats or Republicans. Illinois government is really Chicago government and all that entails. What Chicago politicians want, Springfield politicians will deliver, as the majority of the Illinois legislature comes from the Chicago area.

I don't see a structural change coming to Illinois politics in the foreseeable future, thus Illinois is just symptomatic of what radical left wing politics can do to bring a state down to fiscal collapse.

Most of my friends, from my youth in Illinois, have moved out of Illinois and they took their wealth with them to states that appreciated them with lower taxes and far less corruption in state and local government.

They don't need Cat in Illinois as long as the state is the safe haven Democrats flee to when right to work bills are brought up in state legislatures.
