Government Debt

Mark Steyn explains how Government spending cuts really work...

Under the “historic” “resolution” of the debt crisis (and don’t those very words “debt crisis” already feel so last week?), America will be cutting federal spending by $900 billion over ten years. “Cutting federal spending by $900 billion over ten years” is Washington-speak for increasing federal spending by $7 trillion over ten years. And, as they’d originally planned to increase it by eight trillion, that counts as a cut. If they’d planned to increase it by $20 trillion and then settled for merely $15 trillion, they could have saved five trillion. See how easy this is?
I guess Christina  Romer is right for once. We are pretty darned fu*ked.

This in from someone who would never describe herself as a math wizard (logarithms were my downfall.) Math doesn't lie. Simple. I've been saying for years that the numbers don't add up and this whole thing called the United States will sink.

And, guess what? I don't really give a darn. The kids and grandkids we here so many people trying to protect won't give a darn either. They're already born and bred little socialists and won't know the difference.

In fact, hubby had a thought last night that was rather chilling. He suspects that the future generations will bemoan the fact that grandpa tried to bring a halt to this "wonderful" life they will be leading under tyranny. They will have no basis for comparison so their way of life will seem "normal." Hmmmmmmmm - makes ya think...

I do believe the term 'treason' is too narrowly defined at least in our Constitution,,,,,,,
